These structures in the Marble have been debated and ascribed to a number of causes. Modern science has confirmed these are organic in origin caused by algae secreting minerals and capturing sediment particles to create dome like structures and form picture like patterns which show up in cross section. These algae were alive just before the incursion of the Jurassic seas covering these areas. This specimen is 11.5 cms across and is polished at one side , comes with a free display stand
